Questions club organizers ask

Is mettle tournament software?

No. mettle is club management software for memberships, payments and events. Keep your tournament software for ratings and pairings.

How do I collect chess club dues without chasing people?

Charge dues monthly, yearly or by the term, with one price for juniors and another for adults. Members pay by card straight into your club's own Stripe account. Stripe retries a declined card, and one tap emails a member everything they still owe.

How do parents sign up their kids and sign permission forms online?

Share your join link. A parent signs up all their kids at once, signs each child's form with a typed name and a drawn signature, and saves a card. Juniors need no email address, and the signed copy stays on each one's record.

How do I track junior progress from beginner up?

Set your own levels and the skills for each one, then tick skills as juniors learn them. mettle marks a junior Ready when a level is done, and a strong new player starts straight at their level.

Can volunteers run check-in?

Yes. Add a volunteer by name and email. They sign in at the tablet with a code emailed to them and check players in to today's sessions. They never get into the app where your member records and payments live.

How do I email all the parents in my junior program at once?

Send an announcement to the program. A parent with two juniors gets one email, not two.

Can I cancel a club night and tell everyone?

Yes. Cancel the date and email everyone on it in one send. For a holiday break, close the dates and send one notice to everyone affected.

How long does it take to get started with mettle?

Request access and we email you when a spot opens, with no calls or newsletter in between. Then connect your club's Stripe account, import your roster from a spreadsheet (parents come across with their kids) and pair a tablet for check-in with a six-character code.
